Fellowship Set Up and Clean Up

Fellowship Time Coffee Preparation Volunteer Description

Thank you so much for volunteering at Cross of Christ! As a coffee preparation volunteer, you will prepare the coffee to be enjoyed during our 10:00 am fellowship time on Sundays. This is something that can be done as a family.

How to Make Regular Coffee, Decaf Coffee, and Hot Water:

  • Arrive at 8:25 a.m. on Sunday morning
  • Brew 2 full glass coffee pots of regular coffee.
    • Use the filters in the cabinet to the left of the sink and place it in the coffee basket.
    • Use 2 scoops of regular coffee grounds.
    • Fill the carafe on the top of the coffee maker with cold tap water to the black ring.
    • Once brewed, pour into airpots. FYI, 2 full pots of coffee fill a little over 1 airpot of coffee.
    • Do not use the airpot that says “Designated for Hot Water Only.” All other airpots are fine to use.
  • Brew 1 full glass coffee pot of decaf coffee.
    • Use the filters in the cabinet to the left of the sink and place it in the coffee basket.
    • Use 2 scoops of decaf coffee grounds
    • Once brewed, pour into airpot. FYI, 1 pot of decaf fills about ½ of an airpot.
    • Do not use the airpot that says “Designated for Hot Water Only.” All other airpots are fine to use.
  • Prepare 1 kettle full of hot water on the stove. Pour into airpot that says “Designated for HOT WATER ONLY.”

How to Prepare the Fellowship Time:

  • Refill hot tea packets, stirrers, creamer, sweeteners, hot chocolate packs, and cider packs and place on counter
  • Extra cups and sugars are in the coffee cart cabinet.
  • Place snacks on the long table with napkins and small plates.
  • Fill two pitchers with cold water – check freezer for ice cubes if we have them.

Fellowship Clean-Up Volunteer Description

You may clean up the coffee and fellowship Sundays anytime after 11:00 a.m.

How to Clean up the Coffee Pots, and Airpots:

  • Airpot clean-up:
    • Pour out all coffee and water from airpots into the kitchen sink.
    • Clean the vacuum flask after each use using the blue and white cleaning brush under the sink with a mixture of water and baking soda or a small amount of dish soap.
    • Rinse the airpot vacuum flask and airpot very well.
    • Dry the airpot thoroughly after each use.
    • Clean the outside of the airpots with a soft cloth or towel.
    • Store the airpots OPEN (not closed up) in the kitchen on the counter, so that any leftover moisture will evaporate.
  • Coffee pot clean-up:
    • Empty the coffee basket of the grounds and filter.
    • Rinse the coffee pot out so the next person can make coffee.
