This outreach ministry meets on the first Monday of the month, September – May, at 1:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall. This group includes those who quilt, crochet, knit, sew, and Plarn.
If you are unfamiliar with Plarning, it is a way to make waterproof mats for the homeless. This is done by cutting plastic grocery bags into strips, connecting the strips to make the “plarn”, and crocheting a mat with it. You can contribute to this ministry by donating your plastic bags (in the plastic bin marked “plarn” near the coat rack), cutting the plastic into strips, or by crocheting mats. If you have questions about how to get involved with this ongoing project, please contact Sue Arcese or Bev Dahl.
The quilts are donated to Lutheran Family Services for children and adults to have as their very own. Many of the people that receive these quilts have few possessions to call their own and our prayers are that these quilts bring them security, warmth, and comfort.
Those who crochet or knit make prayer shawls that are given to people who are struggling with their health.. These shawls surround them with prayers and comfort.
If you would like to join this group or have an interest in learning, please contact Judy Koepke. You can also contact the Congregational Life Coordinator, email@example.com or 303-469-4004, with any questions.
