Annual Meeting
The annual meeting will be held on Sunday, February 5th at 12:30 pm. The Annual Report will be available to members the week before. We will be approving the 2012 budget and electing council members. Childcare will be offered.

(The adult class will meet in the sanctuary and have a special presentation on the ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Care Center. Come hear how this congregation, one of the very few connected to a care center, ministers with the elderly and thrives.)
New Member Classes
New Member classes begin THIS Sunday, January 15th – Sunday, February 5th. This is a 4 week class held at 11:15 am in the Fellowship Hall.
These classes cover the Vision Statements of our congregation: Worship, Learn, and Serve. In these classes you will learn more on the history of our congregation, the ELCA, and the Lutheran church. As well as different ways to be involved in the congregation. If you are interested in joining our faith community or learning more about us, please contact the church office this week.

Middle School Youth Gathering
The Rocky Mountain Synod Middle School Youth Gathering will be this weekend in Colorado Springs. The theme this year is “Get Drenched….Drenched in Grace, Poured out in Love”. We have 19 middle school students and 6 adults attending, and they will be joining the 800 other participants from the Rocky Mountain Synod, for fun, fellowship, and prayer. Please keep all these kids and adults in your prayers this weekend.
Bach Cantata
An die Musik will be presenting “And This Shall Be for Music” a performance featuring two of J.S. Bach’s Cantatas. There will be an Open Rehearsal on Monday, January 16th at 6:30 pm at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. Come to hear a working presentation of these two amazing works. The Performance will be Saturday, January 21st at 7:30 pm at Christ Church Denver 2950 S. University Blvd. Free Admission.

Christmas Eve Worship Services
4pm–A shorter service for all but especially families with young children; special music by Proclaim Praise Team
5:30, 7:30 and 11pm–traditional services with special music from Soli Dei choir and others. Children’s Sermons at 5:30 and 7:30; a nursery is offered at 5:30 and 7:30.
All services will have carols, candlelight and Holy Communion. All are welcome to come to the Lord’s Table.
Christmas Day Worship
One service of Lessons and Carols at 10am; Holy Communion will be celebrated and there will be a Children’s Sermon.
New Year’s Day Worship–Sunday January 1, 2012
One service at 10am with the celebration of Holy Communion; no nursery this Sunday
Our regular Sunday morning schedule will resume January 8th.
Tuesday Night Live is January 3rd at 5:45pm
We will have pizza dinner together until 6:30. From 6:30-7:30 we have confirmation class for middle school, high school discussion group, adult classes, and activities and choirs for the children. Sign up on the Youth Board next to the kitchen if you are planning to come. All are welcome, even if you’ve never been to TNL before!

Congregational Meeting Results:
At a Congregational Meeting last Sunday the congregation voted to proceed with a building addition. A floorplanof the two-story building is displayed in the fellowship hall. Site work will begin in early 2012 and constructin will start on Easter Monday, April 9th.

During the Christmas Festival of Music on December 4th a special offering was taken to establish a scholarship for one of our youth to attend the Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival on the campus of Luther College. The goal of $500 for this initial scholarship was reached plus $847 to support the music minstry here at Cross of Christ. For more information go to www.lutheransummermusic.org

Broomfield Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service
The Service will be at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church (corner of 287 and 10th) at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22nd. This is a wonderful opportunity for Christians in Broomfield to worship and give thanks together – and eat pie afterwards! This year’s preacher will be Scott McAnally, pastor of Lutheran Church of Hope. An offering will be received to benefit FISH the Broomfield food bank.
Sunday, November 27 – First Sunday in Advent
NO Sunday School
There will no Sunday School this Sunday. There will be Cherub Choir (Preschool – 1st grade) practice at 10:15 – 10:35 am in the Sanctuary. There will be Seraphim Choir (2nd – 5th grade) practice from 10:35 – 10:55 am in the Sanctuary.

Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual AdventFest on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 6:00 pm. The evening will start with a simple soup dinner and include Family worship, advent crafts, service project and caring conversation. This is a great event for all generations to come together and celebrate the beginning of Advent. Sign up on the Youth Board!

A congregational will be held on Sunday, December 4th at 12:30 pm in order to discuss and vote on the building addition proposal and the financing through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Please plan to come to this important meeting as we continue Cross of Christ’s ministry into the future

There will be a Christmas Festival of Music at Cross of Christ on December 4, 2011 at 4:00 pm. The Festival will include all of the music ensembles at Cross of Christ (both children’s choirs, handbell choir, Soli Dei choir, and hymns for the whole congregation). The festival will end with the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Everyone is invited to sing with us, and we will have a brief rehearsal just before the concert @ 3:30 pm.
